The Marketing Analytics & Planning Manager provides leadership and subject matter expertise in the planning and campaign optimization efforts across marketing.  This individual will champion our testing and optimization program starting with A/B & multivariate testing taking us into experience optimization and eventually personalization.  The Express Marketing Planning and Analytics team is responsible for providing high-quality analytical work in a fast-paced and fluid environment. The team drives integrated planning efforts across Express that achieve campaign objectives, create a strong customer experience, and drive incremental sales for the business.

 

Individuals on this team:

Lead test preparation and optimization for stores & marketing campaigns
Analyze store/customer campaign performance and make recommendations
Develop the direct marketing program strategy (includes direct mail and digital channels as well as budget ownership)
Provide business performance reporting
Communicate insights & recommendations to business leaders
Work cross-functionally with areas such as merchandise planning & allocation, marketing, finance, store operations, and eCommerce
The manager leads a team of 5-6 employees and will work closely with external vendors as well as partners in other areas of Marketing, and across the business to ensure that programs and initiatives are well planned and results communicated in a timely manner.  The manager provides training and guidance to less experience analysts as well as works with team to set and achieve department objectives.  Clearly define project deliverables, timelines, and dependencies for team members and internal partners.

 

Essential Requirements

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field of study or Marketing with equivalent quantitative work experience, master’s degree preferred.
Experience:
Typically requires minimum of 7+ years work experience, 3+ years managing others and leading cross-functional teams
3-5+ years in an analytics role; experience with campaign/store planning, test design and marketing mix / multi-touch attribution tools a plus
Five plus years of retail experience preferred

Tools:
Usage of analytics/testing tools such as APT, Adobe Analytics, Microstrategy, etc.
Familiar with programming languages such as SQL
Strong knowledge of Excel including pivot tables, vlookups, etc.
Capable with other Microsoft Office products
