The Ohio State University’s Office of Advancement seeks a data-driven, customer-centric leader to serve as a Senior Manager, Audience Insights and Strategy. The Senior Manager acts as the audience(s) champion for The Ohio State University within Advancement, bringing to life multiple audiences to fuel audience-centric strategies and marketing plans. Audiences include 700,000+ alumni, current donors, prospective donors, community partners and friends of the university.

Reporting to the Chief Analytics Officer over Advancement’s Business Intelligence and Data Science area, the Senior Manager oversees a team of three (two research associates and one digital analyst), delegating work to this team and being held responsible for their performance. This key role develops and synthesizes the team’s insights into frameworks that inform and drive holistic, customer-centric strategies and business decisions traversing the customer journey. Responsibilities include setting the direction and deploying the resources for an integrated audience insights and research strategy and plan that will proactively provide a comprehensive view of the market and our audiences.

The Senior Manager is responsible for leading audience research and digital analytics initiatives including but not limited to primary and secondary research, persona development, customer journey mapping, analytics and monitoring, customer and/or consumer panel management, and Voice of Customer feedback to continuously develop insights that drive customer experience improvement opportunities across online and offline channels, customer acquisition, retention, and product/service development. This position will fuel strategic decision-making with key stakeholders across Advancement to infuse audience insights that help to align content to each audience, timed to relevant moments and distributed through integrated channels.

This role operates with a high degree of independence to make decisions, solve problems, negotiate and adapt to shifting priorities. Expectations include exceptional communications and interactions with diverse personalities, genuine collaboration with colleagues across Advancement, the university and Wexner Medical Center, diplomacy, attention to detail, discretion and the ability to actively listen and advance the strategic nature and quality of discussions. The successful candidate will have an ability to deliver messages at all levels, from presenting strategy at board level to coaching teams and influencing others. They will also possess the ability to adapt quickly and lead with confidence. This position and the positions that report to it offer a flexible schedule including remote work as agreed upon with the Chief Analytics Officer.
